Ten years ago the Lord put a desire on my heart to start a school which disciples future ministers and missionaries for God’s kingdom. When my children were learning classically at home, I knew what type of school was needed to disciple children to become world changers. Proverbs 22:6 states that we are to “train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.” With this mission, we opened our doors in the fall of 2011. It is my pleasure to lead and support Calvary Christian Academy through providing vision and upholding the standard of God’s infallible word!
I have been married to my wife, Brenda, for twenty years. We have six children together. When we are not working at church or school we enjoy time together as a family.
Having joined Calvary Christian Academy in 2015, I have taught for over 25 years, Pre K-12. I embrace classical Christian education for two primary reasons. First, it maintains the proper goal of education, which is not to merely train good technicians or accountants, but to cultivate virtue and purpose in the lives of students. Also, classical Christian education is vastly superior to the modern approach to education because, through the Trivium, it utilizes the student’s natural developmental stages to produce a student equipped to both think and articulate great ideas. While these factors lead CCA into being an extraordinary school, the emphasis on being a discipleship-focused school to produce world changers for Jesus Christ most excites me.
It is my deepest desire to partner with families as we strive together to be legacy builders to the glory of God. I love teaching all types of math from elementary to calculus, but my accomplishments also include teaching Bible, engineering, Jr/Sr high school science, technology, and PE. Additionally, my background includes teacher training over all curriculum areas, parent training as a minister and seminar speaker, and corporate training for all design chain participants in various software applications including 3D CAD / internet collaboration. My wife, Crissi, and I have been married for 26 years, and we have two daughters, ages 24 and 19. I am most blessed among men with the amazing family God has provided me.
I was blessed to have joined CCA even before our doors were opened back in 2010. Realizing what a rich experience classical education provides a child through beautiful literature, engaging academics, all in a challenging atmosphere that pushes them to reach their full potential, my husband and I knew that this is where we wanted our children to be and this is where the Lord was calling me as well! What I treasure most about our school is that all of our staff disciple our students hearts, pointing them to Christ, in as many situations as possible.
My husband and I live in San Jose and have been married for 12 years. We have three beautiful children two of which attend CCA.
I have worked at Calvary Christian Academy since 2012. One of my favorite things about teaching is watching a child’s face light up in wonder over a new concept or idea they have learned or grasped for the first time. There is something incredibly special about helping to foster a love and passion for learning in the heart of a child—especially their love for God. Working at CCA allows me to share my love and passion for learning and knowledge with my students, while discipling their hearts and minds in the ways of the Lord. Truly, each school day at CCA is thoroughly steeped with the truth of God’s Word, and it is a joy to see and experience firsthand!
When not in the classroom, I enjoy a good book, taking long walks, and playing the piano. I also enjoy many different kinds of arts and crafts—from sewing and crocheting to sketching and do-it-yourself projects. My family is also a special priority and part of my life.
I truly believe God has prepared and equipped me to be a teacher. I have had the wonderful privileged of teaching at Calvary Christian Academy since 2015. I chose to teach at CCA because it is Christ-Centered to the core. I share the same passion and vision for education as our school: to train up, discipline, and educate children in the ways of the Lord. As an educator, it is my desire to provide a loving and nurturing environment for students as they learn and grow, not only in academics, but also in their personal relationship with our Savior, Jesus Christ.
When I am not in the classroom, I can often be found completing a fun art project, decorating for an event, playing a board game, or watching an old classical movie or a cooking show. I also love spending time with my family and traveling the world. One unique thing about me is that I am a childhood cancer survivor. God graciously spared me from cancer and has allowed me to be a living testimony of His great faithfulness and sovereignty.
It has been my dream ever since elementary school to work with children. My prayer is to make a difference in their lives by showing them God's love, and by teaching them the importance of developing good character at a young age. I believe that God has called all of us to be world changers, and that children especially have the potential to bring His light to our sinful world.
I am blessed to have been raised in a loving Christian family who have trained me to honor God in everything that I do.
I have taught in public and Christian schools for more than 15 years. I choose to teach at CCA because I know that the Lord is the focus in all we do; and that the purpose of this school is to raise up the next generation of well-equipped christian men and women, who know the truth, and are able to live according to God's will.
My husband and I have been married for 16 years. We have one son who attends CCA and he loves it!
I love being a part of Calvary Christian Academy because it is centered around Christ’s Love and God’s Truth. The faculty and staff have blessed me and countless families through their prayers, encouragement, and friendship. The children and their families bring joy to my heart everyday. Even on the most difficult of days, I am so thankful to spend my time teaching, loving, and caring for the children at CCA.
I love spending time with my husband as we serve in ministries together, try out new recipes, play games with friends, read, explore new places, and create fun projects!
I have always felt a calling and love for teaching young children. Throughout the years, God has allowed me experience the great joy as I have served in many different teaching roles. One role that stands out was an amazing opportunity to teach overseas in Thailand. There, God put my talents to the test, and all of my experiences living in a different culture helped shape me into who I am as a teacher.
This will be my second year teaching at CCA, and I am so incredibly excited to see how God is going to use me to impact the lives of my students this year. The most wonderful thing I have experienced so far at CCA is the incredible unity and Christ-centered mentality that the faculty and staff members have. It is truly a one-of-a-kind school, and I am blessed to be able to teach here!
Outside of teaching, I enjoy baking/cooking, traveling, reading, and going to the beach. You will often find me at a local coffee shop reading, doing devotions, working, or just enjoying my coffee.
While living in Bangladesh for two years, God prepared and fine-tuned my teaching skills as I served and taught young and underprivileged girls English, Bible, and how to share their faith.
I am looking forward to another year teaching at Calvary Christian Academy as it is Christ-Centered, focusing on equipping, training, and discipling students to grow in their education as well with God. It is a privilege to be apart of this CCA family.
Outside the classroom, my husband and I enjoy sports - whether as spectators or players - as well as the outdoors and watching movies. If we’re not outside, you can find me reading all the books I can get my hands on! I also enjoy playing the guitar in my free time.
I have loved my time at CCA, because I get the opportunity to walk alongside students on their academic journey and also as they grow in their relationship with Jesus. Each day, I see their face light up when they learn something new, whether it's a new concept in science or a new truth about God. It's such a joy!
I am newly married to my husband Colin. In our free time, we enjoy camping, hiking, and drinking good coffee!
This is my first year at CCA, but I have been dreaming of teaching here since it’s inception! With a background familiar with the classical eduction model, I’m very excited to be starting in the pivotal 6th grade year - guiding students into greater analytical and critical thinking skills.
What’s truly unique about CCA is the focus on Christ and the students’ knowledge and walk with Him. What more important subject is there? The ability to teach about Him and also couch the other subjects in the reality of His Word is an invaluable aspect of this school and makes all the difference in the lives of the students.
My husband and I have been married for 21 years and have been blessed by God in our walk together with Him. We enjoy road trips and love to swim and walk together and just have quiet nights at home. My time alone is mainly spend knitting, reading and bike riding.
Teaching our upper middle school students at CCA has been a gift from the Lord for two powerful reasons: CCA's staff and our carefully-curated curriculum. From the administrators to faculty to office workers—every staff member is a "doer of the Word, not just a hearer" (James 1:22-25). This foundation is critical and not to be assumed common amongst Christian middle schools.
Each staff member's deep, abiding love for Jesus in word and deed, coupled with our thought-provoking curriculum, daily spurns me upward to teach and disciple my students in a way that becomes a conduit for the fresh pouring of the Holy Spirit. This makes our class time engaging and highly relevant to my students' present and future, full of critical analysis and expression. It makes our learning atmosphere infused with love, grace, restorative discipline, and acceptance, so that wisdom and truth and deepening character can be extracted and internalized by each. Over the past five years, I have found that new students enter CCA as kids simply going to class, but throughout the year, they are transformed into members of a community, who realize they have great value, purpose, and a God-given calling. We get them excited!
When not in the classroom, I can be found grading—ha! In addition, however, I enjoy trying out great restaurants, going on weekend road trips to the mountains, discipling two sweet gals from church, writing fantasy stories for teens, and planning future travel adventures.
It is so much fun teaching at a Classical Christian School, especially in the Junior High years. I was in Jr. High when I made a commitment to fully surrender to Christ. This is why teaching Jr. High is my absolute passion. It is so exciting to teach Jr. High students bible and history because they are enlightened and are able to get to the root of ideas, concepts and truths which help them in forming their beliefs that they will hold throughout their entire life! Our curriculum at CCA is living and works mightily in the hearts of those who are blessed to go through it. It is an absolute joy to teach these students at such an amazing school. Not only do I enjoy the students and curriculum, but I love working with the staff. At CCA we have amazing christian men and women who are committed to Christ and doing their best for His glory!
I have been happily married to Michael for 20 years and am blessed to have six children, which range from Kindergarten to 9th grade. We are so blessed to have all our children attend CCA. They have been so blessed and loved by their teachers and their growth both spiritual and academically is astounding. When I am not working at school, I love spending time with my family, gardening, sewing, cooking, teaching bible studies, and so much more!

Here at CCA, where literature is one of the hallmarks of its classical education, I cherish the opportunity to help our students discover a passion for reading. There is so much that we can learn about our Creator, heroes of faith, humanity, morality, and life from connecting with stories! I am also excited to introduce our young scholars to early research skills that they will need as they move up to higher level of education. What a privilege it is to be able to do all that in a Christ-centered environment. I look forward to helping these bright young minds use the truth of Christ to discern and evaluate all the information that comes their way.
My husband Jason and I have been married for 13 years. We have three children, two are attending CCA and one in CCA Preschool. Our children have been blessed with loving teachers and school staff, a rigorous education that use their natural learning capacity to the fullest, and most all a nurtured faith in Christ.
It is a pleasure to be serving my second year here at CCA as part of their music education. Having been involved in this private-school environment since Fall 2015, I've regularly been working as a music teacher and educator since 2008. I've been fortunate to have a background in worship music as well as other music disciplines.
I am very privileged to work at CCA for many reasons. Initially, this work allows me to nurture my calling in discipling those around me and pouring into their growth. Additionally, I enjoy interacting with all the children, spending time with the staff, and working specifically in music. And finally, it's fantastic to be in such a Christ-centered environment aimed at bringing God glory in all endeavors.
In my family, I cherish two siblings, two wonderful parents, and a little rabbit (who sometimes chews on our household items!). In my spare time, I enjoy taking naps, dabbling in audio-engineering, jamming with friends, or taking walks. And I almost never say "no" to a great meal.
I will be entering my second year of teaching art at CCA. As an artist and teacher, I take great joy helping to encourage children to see their God-given creative and artistic potential. It is a pleasure to train students to see the truth, goodness, and beauty in God's creation and, ultimately, glorifying Him with their artwork.
This year my husband and I celebrated our fifteenth wedding anniversary. Our daughter, who has attended CCA since preschool, will be entering the 4th grade. When I am not teaching, I am an artist and freelance graphic designer. During my free time, I enjoy being outdoors with my family and dog, eating amazing food all over the Bay Area, hosting friends for dinner, playing the violin, painting, and visiting art museums.
Serving along side staff and students has been most rewarding here at Calvary Christian Academy. This school is an answer to prayer! The Christ centered environment and curriculum foster a culture rich in excellence. Last year It was a blessing to serve as part time teachers aide in 2nd grade. The love from the staff and students is palpable. I am excited to serve this year as the Director of Admissions and Registrar.
When I'm not working I enjoy family time and quite time reading and studying the Bible. I have been married for 15 years and have two beautiful children.
I have worked with preschoolers for over fifteen years, first as a preschool teacher and now as director. I started teaching here at Calvary in 2007 and then became director in 2011. It is such a privilege and an honor to support and be supported by such a wonderful and caring staff. I feel truly blessed to be a part of this ministry sharing the love of Jesus with our preschoolers and their families.
My husband and I have been married for twelve years and have been blessed with five beautiful children, four girls and one boy. When not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family, knitting, and reading.
I have been a preschool teacher for over 20 years. I have taught here at Calvary since 2011. I have been blessed to work with this age group and it's been amazing! At this age group, the children have such a tender heart to recieve God's word. The staff here at CCA have a heart for God. It's such a blessing to be a part of this awesome team!
I have been married to my husband for eighteen years. We have have five beautiful children and one grandaughter. When I am not in school, I love to read books and go on adventures.
I have been a preschool teacher for over 20 years. I have taught here at Calvary since 2011. It is a joy and privilege to be part of such a wonderful school where our mission is to show these little ones the love of God as well as encourage a love for education. I give God all the glory for the many blessings I have received from all the little ones and our loving staff!
I have been married to my husband for 37 years. We have four beautiful children and six grandchildren, who I absolutely adore! When not in school I love spending time with my family and going on weekend getaways with my husband.
My Passion for working with children began as a teenager. I started out as a volunteer worker in the nursery at my church. As time passed I became involved with teaching. I have now been involved in children's ministry for over 13 years and have taught Sunday school for children ages 2 through kindergarten. I have loved every minute that I have been able to teach the children about the love of Christ.
My husband Jonathan and I have been married for 10 years and have two beautiful daughters, Julianna and Raelynn. When not at school, I enjoy reading a good book and watching movies with my family.
The Lord has always put a passion for children on my heart since I was young. I have worked professionally with children for over two years and have volunteered in the Church children ministry for about 6 years. I also worked with infants for over a year and I loved being able to be part of their firsts and watch them grow into toddlerhood and onto preschool. I truly enjoy getting to teach children something new and just being a caretaker to children in general.
My husband Jose and I have been married for almost 3 years, and have a son named Aadyn. We look forward to welcoming our new little baby in April. When not at school, I enjoy the outdoors, spending time with my family, and knitting.
